Joseph Shomali

Born in 1983, a year known as a black mark in the history of Video Games Industry, Joseph Shomali, is a young Game Producer, Game Developer, Programmer and Musician.

Joseph has following his passion for games and music ever he was a kid; while building his first game 'level' using QBasic by the age of 11, his first music 'software' was built in Advanced Basic by the age of 13.

During his college studies, Joseph Shomali was lucky to be intoduced to a game development fan team; Elements Team, and start working with them as a composer and 'sound designer' for their GBA titles in production. Although Elements Team did not last long, it was Joseph's first step into the mysterious world of Game's Industry.

During his young life time, he managed to try different positions and acheive a couple of rewards. He worked as a game programmer, AI programmer, AI team lead, composer, sound effects engineer, graphics designer, project manager, producer, and Operations Manager in the industry! Many responsibilities, however, were concurrent, which although allowed him to actually spend enough time in every role, resulted in years of doing nothing except for work! He loved it, to say the least.

Joseph is an award winning youth composer in Jordan, awarded by the Ministry of Culture during Amman, the Capital of Arab Culture Festival, year 2002, as well as the first and second prize winner in a Flash Game Development contest held in Amman 2010. He is also a known musician in his hometown, as he performed as a church organist with a high profile choir group, a keyboards player in a well-known classic rock band in Jordan, as well as a school music teacher for sometime.

During his previous stay in Latvia, he worked steadily as a pianist in Palete Restaurant (Part of Vecriga Hotel) in Riga's Old Town.

Ah, finally, done talking about myself as a 3rd person! I hope you enjoy this little website as it contains details, samples, and links related to my work in games, flash and web, music, as well as a detailed and, hopefully, updated resume.

All in all, I hope you enjoy your stay! Let me know what you think, as I might not agree with what you say, and I wouldn't really die for your right to do so! If you have something to say, spit it out :D
